Use the basic TM-8811 model column
LANDTEK names TM-8811 as the basic type beside the functional TM-8812/TM-8812C and affordable TM-8810. Its 0.1 mm resolution, 1000–9000 m/s sound-velocity setting and larger AA-battery enclosure belong to the TM-8811 column.
Select the instrument around the material, expected wall thickness and required acceptance tolerance. The catalogue display increment is not the uncertainty of a complete inspection method.

Match the transducer and material
The standard probe is listed as 5 MHz and Ø8 mm. The separate probe table gives its 1.5–200 mm range in steel; special probes have different ranges, diameters and temperature limits. Confirm the actual probe for curved, thin, rough or non-steel work.
Prepare a representative surface and reference check, set the material sound velocity and establish a repeatable coupling procedure. An instrument range alone does not establish reliable readings on every material or geometry.

Plan how the readings will be recorded
The catalogue assigns optional RS-232C and Bluetooth data accessories to the functional model columns, not TM-8811. Do not assume that the basic instrument includes those outputs. Agree how readings, inspection positions and reference checks will be recorded.
Confirm the TM-8811 instrument, probe, coupling agent and case in the packing list, and include model-matched replacement probes and instructions. The published 208 g mass excludes the four AA batteries.
Planning your configuration
- State material, surface geometry, expected thickness and inspection tolerance.
- Confirm the probe and reference method; distinguish 0.1 mm resolution from measurement uncertainty.
- Choose a recording method without assuming TM-8812 data accessories are available on TM-8811.
