Build an electrode survey around the investigation target
GIM-10 acquires electrical response through ground electrodes. The manufacturer describes resistivity and IP modes and a ten-channel configuration. Select the method for the geological question, then establish electrode spacing and line geometry before specifying the cable package.
In the ten-channel configuration table, the resistivity package and the IP package have different enabled functions. The IP package adds IP acquisition, while three-dimensional and time-lapse requirements should be specified explicitly. Ten-channel reception is the comparison basis here; electrode quantity and cable length are separate configuration choices.

Match the host with controllers and cables
The host table lists 24-bit conversion, a ±48 V measurement range, a 5.7-inch screen and 16 GB storage. Cascade controllers switch electrode connections along the line. The illustration explains the electrical principle; it does not represent a guaranteed investigation depth or a result at a particular site.
The shared host records current and potential waveforms and provides automatic self-potential tracking over ±10 V. Listed pulse-width selections run from 1 to 64 seconds in discrete steps. Choose stacking and pulse settings against signal strength, interference and the survey objective, then retain those settings with the exported measurements.

Define acquisition and interpretation together
Specify electrode contact checks, repeat readings, data export and inversion software. Review interference and geological control when assessing an anomaly. Obtain the approved transmitter operating envelope, cable limits and environmental ratings for the exact host and power-supply configuration.
Planning your configuration
- Choose the resistivity or resistivity/IP configuration explicitly; the source lists different functional packages.
- Itemise electrode count, spacing, cascade controllers, cables, power supplies and software.
- Obtain the approved transmitter and temperature ratings before field configuration.
- Interpret electrical anomalies alongside geology and independent investigation.
