Match pipe dimensions to the clamp and insert set
The WD160B table lists nine pipe-size steps between 40 and 160 mm. Confirm the insert pairs required for those sizes and the pipe’s wall thickness or SDR, rather than selecting only by its nominal outside diameter.
The manufacturer system photograph shows the frame, facer and enclosed hydraulic unit. It identifies the arrangement, while a quotation should give a complete packing list including the heating plate, support, hoses and each reducer insert.

Set the cycle from the approved pipe procedure
The machine brings prepared pipe faces together using hydraulic force after the heating stage. Heater temperature, soaking time, changeover and cooling pressure should come from the applicable pipe and material procedure.
The published 0–270°C controller range is not a recommended joining temperature. Request the effective cylinder area and pressure calculation method needed to translate the procedure into gauge settings, along with a demonstration on the specified pipe.
Specify controls, accessories and electrical supply
The listed powers are 1.5 kW for the plate, 1.1 kW for the facer and 0.75 kW for the hydraulic unit. Their sum is the published 3.35 kW total; confirm supply protection, cable and any generator requirements for the selected build.
The close-up shows the enclosed control unit rather than another clamping frame. A digital heating plate, data logger and stub-end holder are optional source items, so include them explicitly when required and agree calibration and replacement blade or plate parts.

Planning your configuration
- Provide pipe material, outside diameter, SDR or wall thickness, fitting geometry and required joining standard. Confirm insert sizes and pressure-setting information.
- Controller range is not a process setpoint. Optional accessories, certification coverage, working conditions and supplied contents require order confirmation; no stock or completed joint inspection is implied.
