A compact solid-ink date coder feeds suitable flat paper items past a heated coding position. For a paper-bag application, the coding area must pass through the machine without folds, seams or coatings interfering with feeding or ink transfer. Specify bag construction and the required message, then check the feeding width, print position, temperature control, ink roller and legibility on an actual bag sample.
